HE WILL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS. The one thing you can be sure of when you join the family of God is that all your needs are supplied. God’s resources are unlimited. Why at times does it seems that our needs are not met?
We are living in very challenging and stressful times in which possession, money, and wealth matter to all. However, if not careful, the pursuit of wealth will pull us away from what really matters, which is our relationship with God and one another.
Satan uses the things of this world to tempt and lure us to him. However, the Word of God provides us with the guidance needed to avoid his trap. In the Bible, God has provided us with practical guidance on how to live above the stresses of life, and we are given instructions on how to manage the resources He has given us.
In this series, from a biblical perspective, we will look at how to manage effectively the resources God has given us while prioritizing what really matters.

Asking For God’s Guidance
Holy Father, thank you for supplying our every need. Help us not take them for granted and abuse our privileges. Give us the wisdom we need to manage the resources; you have given us.
In Jesus the Name Amen
Though not appreciated by many, God’s greatest gift to His children is Jesus Christ. Jesus brings us peace, forgiveness, mercy, and the grace necessary for daily living and for spiritual growth. It is through Jesus that we have the hope of eternal life. It is Jesus who saves us. This is what John is telling us when he says in John 3:16
“ ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’ ” (John 3:16)
And it is through Jesus that we according to John 1:12 are adopted into the family of God. We become his sons and daughters. And Jesus becomes our Elder Brother.
1 But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name (John 1:12)
Listen to what the book Christ Object Lesson says about Jesus:
Christ is represented in the Scriptures as a gift. He is a gift, but only to those who give themselves, soul, body, and spirit, to Him without reserve. We are to give ourselves to Christ, to live a life of willing obedience to all His requirements. All that we are, all the talents and capabilities we possess, are the Lord’s, to be consecrated to His service. When we thus give ourselves wholly to Him, Christ, with all the treasures of heaven, gives Himself to us. We obtain the pearl of great price.—Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 116.
Salvation through Jesus Christ is our primary gift. Although when we accept Jesus as our Savior and Elder brother, we have at our hand all the riches in heaven, without the gift of salvation, nothing else would really matter.
For whatever we might have here, the day will come when we shall die. Whatever good we did will fade away, and someone else will soon take our place.
So, what is most important is that we always place the gift of eternal life ahead of anything this life gives us.
This is the point Paul was making in 1 Corinthians. 2:2 when he said.
2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (I Corinthians 2:2)
God is so gracious; he is so good that He gives us so much more. For instance, for those worried about having enough food to eat and clothes to wear. In Mathew 6:33 Jesus says to us,
33 ‘Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you’ ” (Matthew 6:33).
In other words, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and all your needs will be supplied.
The following verse is our assurance that when we commit our lives to God, He has promised to supply all our needs.
Psalms 23:1
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Psalms 23:1)
Psalms 37:25
25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. (Psalms 37:25)
Philippians 4:19
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
But God does not stop at temporal needs such as food, clothing, and shelter. When Jesus talked to His followers (his disciples) about His going away, He promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to comfort them. John 14:15-17 tells us what he said to them.
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:15–17).
Later, Jesus adds, in John 16:13
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. (John 16:13).
The promise of the gift of the Holy Spirit was not limited to those disciples standing before Him, that promise is extended to everyone who believes in Him.
Now if God had not already done enough, the Holy Spirit Himself gives amazing spiritual gifts to God’s children.
Paul in 1 Corinthians 12:4–11 identifies those gifts:
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,
10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. (I Corinthians 12:4-11)
So, the God who gives us life gives us everything we need. His only request is that we may serve Him in this life.
He promises us everlasting life.
He gives us spiritual gifts to bless
He provides our physical needs of food, clothing, and shelter
Here is what Paul tells us about God and the resources he gives to his children.
Acts 17:28
28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ (Acts 17:28).
Acts 17:25
25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. (Acts 17:25).
What does God do for us:
He sustains our life,
He gives us health,
He gives us material possessions,
He gives us spiritual gifts to help others, and most importantly he gives us salvation
All these gifts are wrapped in one package Jesus. It is therefore up to us to accept the gift. Therefore he prefaced his promise of the Holy Spirit (the Comforter) with the words found in John 14:15
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. (John 14:15)
We show that we extend our hand to accept his gift when we love him. We demonstrate our love in action when we keep his commandments.
The point is that as a member of God’s family, God offers us all His available resources. His one request is that we use all our gifts, talents, skills, money, and material positions to honor Him. How must we honor Him?
