SATAN PRETENDS TO BE A GOOD ANGEL. More and more individuals are becoming intrigued with supernatural manifestations. The danger lies in the source of the manifestation. Is it from God? Or is it from Satan? If in the end-time, Satan pretends to be good, how do you know if a supernatural phenomenon is from God or from Satan?

This series addresses the concerns we all have: the concern for sin, evil, death, dying, and what happens after we die. Is there hope after death? When God created us, humans, he intended for us to live forever in a loving, peaceful relationship with him. But this relationship has been broken by sin.

Here, we address the origin of sin and look more closely at death and dying.

But, instead of looking at death negatively, we look at it in the context of hope, the promised hope based on what Jesus did for us when he died and came back to life again.

Inviting God’s Presence

Heavenly Father, open our eyes that we may see. Help us distinguish the supernatural source speaking to us. Give us the ability to discern between your works and that of Satan. In Jesus’ Name Amen

Our modern society has become more and more fascinated with the supernatural. It comes as little to no surprise when someone you know mentions that they have talked with a dead relative. And it is becoming common practice to participate in séances in which the aim is to call up the dead. Even more common is the practice of consulting the stars, palm reading, tarot cards, crystals, and numerology.

“And no wonder! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So, it is not strange if his ministers also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness. Their end will match their deeds” (2 Corinthians 11:14, 15, NRSV).

These practices come as no surprise. Our contemporary society has become a melting pot for the supernatural and the mystical. And of course, Hollywood is bringing in billions of dollars on religious movies with a mystical overtone filled with error and deception. Thus, our society today is filled with books, entertainment, movies, and news stories about strange and surprising phenomena.

These “miracles” include secret knowledge about ghosts, visitors from outer space, and messages from the dead. (Split)

But most of these movies and books, if not all of them are filled with lies, false teachings, and errors that don’t match Bible truth. These movies and books tell us the same lie that Satan told Eve in Genesis 3:4

“You will not surely die.” (Genesis 3:4, NKJV).

This lie has also inspired some of the most-read books and most-watched movies of the past few decades, and many popular video games, as well.

Paul lets us know in 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 this should come as no surprise.

14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

And even worst:

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

For sure, we are exposed to and tempted by the enchanted ground of Satan. He can appear in innumerable forms and even, in some cases, he hides under the disguise of science.

What is Satan’s motive? He wants to turn our attention away from God and depend on things rather than be guided by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.  So, he uses tricks, schemes, deception, and lies to do this.

One of Satan’s greatest deceptions today is what is called “near-death experiences” (NDEs). An NDE is an experience in which someone dies and comes back to life with stories about an afterlife. There have even been documentaries on people who have died and come back to life to tell of their experiences after death. These NDE’s often conflict with what the Bible says about what happens when we die.

In this study, we will consider some end-time deceptions, including mysticism, near-death experiences, reincarnation, necromancy, ancestral worship, and others. Though these practices may seem beneficial, they are dangerous subjects to entertain. Yet, there are things that we should be aware of but not at the expense of exposing ourselves to their influences.

Our world is filled with mysticism, the strange, and the mysterious. And there are things that sometimes occur that are so complex they cannot be explained.  How should we deal with these strange and mystical happenings? Find out: Day 2: Mysticism
