WE ARE OVERCOMERS! No need to be distressed over Satan’s accusations. Jesus’ victory on the cross silenced Satan’s allegations that we cannot overcome sin. Through Jesus’ victory over sin and Satan, all who desire can be overcomers.

Our march orders for the present day come from the three angels’ message of Revelation chapter 14.

Their message makes up the core of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Their messages are the present truth for our time.

Thus, we are studying the messages surrounding these three angels as it relates to the gospel and present truth, truth as it relates to our day.

Seeking God’s Guidance

Father, thank you for your Son, Jesus. through him, grant us the power to overcome our weaknesses. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Jesus has never lost a battle with Satan. Jesus is the mighty conqueror. Jesus is the winner against Satan and his army of evil angels. But it is one thing to believe that Jesus obtained victory over the temptations of Satan. However, it is another thing to believe, and as if Jesus’ victory over sin and Satan is our victory, as well.

But when we read Revelation 12:10. It tells us that our accuser has been “cast down.” He is a loser! He has been defeated!

10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. (Revelation 12:10).

Satan is our accuser. He accuses us day and night.  Though Satan is a loser, he has not given up. The battle that began in heaven still rages on. The cosmic war between good and evil continues to our present day. But Satan is a loser. When you turn to the end of the story, at the end of earth’s history, Jesus wins the war against evil at his second coming.

Moreover, for those who accept Him as their personal Savior, Jesus wins the battle against the powers of evil in their lives as well.

But some people live in fear. They are constantly struggling with the issue of perfection and the power to over sin in their own strength.

They make every effort to overcome some weaknesses or bad habits. They struggle with the idea that Christ’s victory is their victory. Thus, they refuse to put their lives in his Hand.

But this is exactly the point that Revelation 12:11 makes.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Revelation 12:11)

In the message to the seven churches in Revelations 2 and 3, Jesus gives this message of overcoming evil to each of the churches. In each message, Jesus talks about those who overcome.

7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” ’

11 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’ (Revelations 2:11)

17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’ (Revelations 2:17)

26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— (Revelation 2: 26)

Revelation 3:5

He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (Revelation 3:5)

Revelation 3:12

He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. (Revelation 3:12)

Revelation 3:21

To him who overcomes, I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Revelation 3: 21)

Jesus says seven times that it’s possible for us to overcome sin. This lets us know we can overcome our weaknesses and our inherited tendency to do evil.

So, Revelation 12:11 tells us how we can be overcomers. The word overcome in the original language is literally translated to conquer, to prevail, to triumph, or to come through victoriously.”

How do we become overcomers?

Revelations 12:11 tells us we are overcomers “by the blood of the Lamb.” (Revelations 12:11 NKJV).

In Revelation 5:6, God gives John a prophetic vision of heaven. In this vision, John sees a Lamb. This Lamb looks as if it has been killed. This Lamb symbolizes Jesus.

6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. (Revelation 5:6)

John’s vision shows us that all heaven is focused on Jesus and His death for us on the cross. The cross shows God’s love for us more than anything else can.

So, we can accept with faith everything Jesus did for us. Our debt is canceled, and we stand perfect in the sight of God. Our sins are forgiven. This we see in the following three verses:

Ephesians 1:7

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7)

Colossians 1:14

14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:14)

Colossians 2:14

14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. (Colossians 2:14)

Satan, who thrives on blaming and accusing us, has been cast down. He is a loser. In Christ, we are victors. In Christ, we are winners. In Christ, we are saved because of what he did on the cross. We are not saved because of our own merits. We are saved because of Christ’s victories on our behalf.

As individuals who are saved by the blood of Christ, we live our lives as such. We demonstrate by our lives that we have the victory over sin and Satan.

It is important that we know, believe, and live like we are victors. For Satan is angry, he is relentless, and even though he is a loser, he does not let up. But when he attacks God’s people, God is there to help. See how he has delivered his church – his people in times past. Day 5: The Woman in the Wilderness
