SHARE IT!  When Jesus left this world, He told His followers to share His everlasting good news with everyone. We have been commissioned to share this message, especially now because time is running out. In this sense, if we want others to know about this message of hope and love, we have a duty to share.

In this series of videos, we look at that good news in the context of the times in which we are living. As we consider this good news, we must remember that our orders for the present day are centered in the three angels’ messages of Revelation chapter 14.

These messages make up the core of the gospel of Jesus Christ and are the present truth for our time. Therefore, in this series, we are studying the messages surrounding the three angels of Revelations 14 and their relevance to the gospel and the times in which we are living.

Inviting God’s Presence

Heavenly Father, Thank You for your message of hope and love. Put within our hearts the burning desire to share this everlasting good news with others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

How badly do you want to make sure everyone has a chance to hear and understand Jesus’ message of love and hope? The time is now to share this message with the world so that they might have the privilege of learning about the love of Jesus.

Listen to Revelation 14:6 again. To what extent is this message of hope to be proclaimed?

6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— (Revelation 14:6)

God wants us to proclaim His Good News to everyone! It is to go to every nation, every tribe, every tongue, and people.  He wants everyone to know how much he loves them. Hence this Everlasting Good News must be shared with everyone.

Wow! This sounds like a huge task. But today, with God’s help and the aid of social media, it is not an impossibility!

So, we who love God and desire to do nothing but please him must give God our best efforts to do the work he has asked us to do. We become totally committed to Him and desire what He desires. We show that we care for others by sharing God’s message of hope and love with others. (Split)

Sharing not only helps those with whom we are sharing, but it also helps us.

Rather than being pressed down and preoccupied with our problems, fears, and worries that we cannot control, we develop a passion for serving others. We are thus inspired to do something larger than ourselves.  Therefore, we are led out of the narrow confines of our own self-interest to a greater vision.

What Jesus told his followers in Matthew 28:19, 20 when he was leaving this world is related to the first angel’s message in Revelation 14:7.

Jesus in Matthew 28:19, 20 tells his followers to

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19, 20)

The First Angel’s Message in Revelation 14: 7 is calling the people of this earth to worship the true and living God, the One who created the heaven and the earth. For the time will come when He who created us will judge the world.

7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” (Revelation 14:7)

Acknowledging our need to be connected to something greater than ourselves, God has commissioned us to share His good news.

Psychologists offer empirical evidence supporting the idea that we humans have a fundamental need for connectedness and belonging, which is related to our psychological well-being and the fulfillment of even our basic human needs.

Thus, it is generally believed that we humans have a need to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. This need is often referred to as a “sense of belonging” or “connectedness” to others and to something greater than oneself.

This could be manifested in different ways, such as belonging to a family, a community, a social group, or a religious or spiritual group. Being a part of something bigger than oneself can provide a sense of purpose, identity, and meaning in life, which can be beneficial for psychological and emotional well-being.

Paul David Tripp wrote a book named A Quest for More: Living for Something Bigger Than You. In this book, Tripp says that all humans have the need to be part of something more important than they are. Tripp writes,

“God made people to be part of something more important than their own lives. Sin causes us to be selfish. God’s mercy saves us from living only for ourselves. God’s mercy frees us to live for the kingdom of God.”

What could be more inspiring, more fulfilling, and more rewarding than being part of God’s work?

The commission given by God in Revelation 14 is bigger than any one person can do on his own.

Hence, Revelation 14 shows us what God wants for his people, his church. He wants us to give our lives to this great commission.

What is this job? He wants us to show His love to everyone on Earth. He wants us to share his message of hope and love with all the world. Is there anything bigger than working with God to finish His work on this earth?

So, you ask, where do I go from here? How do I become a part of this great commission that God has given us? How do I go where God wants me to go?

A group of people call the early Adventists studied the Bible carefully. As they studied, they started to understand more fully the Three Angels’ Messages. They believed that the Three Angels’ Messages were God’s end-time warning. They also believed that this message must be announced in every language and to everyone on earth to help them get ready for Jesus’ return.

John Andrews was the first early Adventist messenger to take the everlasting gospel of the three angels’ messages to Europe, a place where there were very few who believed or understood the messages of Revelation 14.

He was deemed best for the job because he spoke at least seven languages and could repeat every word of the New Testament by memory, and he knew most of the Old Testament, He was considered a brilliant scholar, a prolific writer, a powerful preacher, and a competent theologian.

Putting aside his own self-interest and rather than being preoccupied with the death of his wife, who had died a few years earlier, he was willing to risk all for the Cause of Christ. He left family and friends behind in America to sail with his two children to a land unfamiliar to him.

Why would he do such a thing? He believed that Jesus was coming soon, and he wanted the world to know the message from God for the end times.

Since then, many Adventists have traveled around the world proclaiming the last-day’s message. These messengers included teachers, doctors, nurses, pastors, farmers, mechanics, carpenters, businesspeople, and individuals with various skills and trades, all of whom believed that Jesus is coming soon.

Their foundation is founded in the following texts that emphasize sharing the everlasting good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to all the world.

Revelation 14:6

6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— Revelation 14:6

Acts 1:8

8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Matthew 24:14

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14)

The preaching of the everlasting gospel is going across geographical boundaries. It is penetrating Earth’s remotest areas. It is reaching people of every language and culture. Eventually, the everlasting gospel will impact the entire world.

You can play a role in this by sharing the message of the three angels with those within your reach. You can start today by sharing this video. Why not click share now so that others will be able to learn of Jesus’ love for them?
