THE POWER OF GOD! Looking at God from the perspective of the sun, do you know that the sun produces more energy in one minute than anything we humans have ever produced since the earth was created? It produces more energy than all the oil, gas, wind, or fire we have ever used on this earth. And, just to think, the sun is just a tiny star. Yet, God is more powerful than all the stars combined in the universe. Now how powerful is that! How could we possibly doubt his creative power?
In this series, in the context of the three angels’ messages in Revelation 14, which make up the core of the gospel of Jesus Christ and are the present truth for our time, we look at the significance of God as our creator and the importance of worshipping Him.

Seeking God’s Presence
God Most High, you are our creator; you are the God of gods. You created everything in both heaven and earth. We honor and worship you. In Jesus’ Name Amen
God deserves our worship. He created us. He created our universe; he created the heavens and the earth. He created the stars, the sun, and the moon. He is worthy of our worship.
The First Angel in Revelation 14:7, letting us know that the judgment hour has come, calls for us to worship God, the creator of heaven and earth.
7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” (Revelation 14:7)
God is worthy of our worship. He is our creator. This is exactly what the following verses demonstrate.
Isaiah 40:26
26 Lift up your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing. (Isaiah 40:26)
John 1:1-3
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. (John 1:1-3)
Romans 1:20
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. (Romans 1:20) (Spit)
So why does Revelation 14:7 end with the first angel calling for us to worship God? It’s Because He is our creator. This command is very important, especially today, because many place their trust in scientists and their scientific theories. One of those theories is the theory of evolution. Even many Christians are leaning toward the theory of evolution. And you do know it is a theory. A theory is a supposition that has not been proven.
This supposition about how the world came into existence conflicts with what the Bible says about how the world came into existence. The theory of evolution maintains that the earth came into existence through slow changes in plants and animals that happened over billions of years. This theory strikes at the very foundation of the Bible. Because if evolution is true, then our faith in God is based on a falsehood that maintains that God created heaven and earth, not in billions of years but seven days. The idea of God as our creator is threaded throughout the Bible all the way to the last Book of the Bible, Revelation.
You see, in the Book of Revelation. A final appeal is made to worship God. This appeal takes us back to the Book of Beginnings, Genesis. Genesis is the first book of the Bible. It helps us understand who made us and how we got here. If we do not understand the significance of who we are and who created us, it becomes difficult for us to understand the cosmic war between good and evil, God and Satan, that exists in this world. When we understand the issue behind the war between good and evil, then we will understand that the war between God and Satan is really about worship. It is about whom we choose to worship.
Genesis 1:1 begins with establishing how the world came into existence.
Genesis 1:1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1,).
Knowing that God is our creator helps us understand the rest of the Bible. The word written “created is “bará” in the Hebrew language. “Bará” is a verb that is only used to talk about God and what He does.
How powerful is God?
Here is an example of just how powerful God is. Let’s go back to the sun. The sun makes more energy in one second than all the energy we have made from oil, gas, coal, or fire since the beginning of the world.
How big is the sun? You would have to travel 865,000 miles to go around the sun just one time. Get this, the sun is as big as one million planets, that is the size of Earth! In other words, for the Earth to be the size of the sun, the Earth would need to be duplicated one million times.
What’s more, the sun is just one star in our galaxy, known as the Milky Way. The Milky Way has at least 100 billion stars in it! One star in the Milky Way, named the Pistol Star, gives off as much as 10 million times the energy that comes from our sun. Even more intriguing is that one million stars the size of our sun can fit into the Pistol Star. So, it would require that our sun be replicated one million times to become the size of the Pistol Sar.
When we think about the vast universe, we humans can only stand in amazement. How, then, can we even begin to understand God and wrap our minds around his creative power?
Have you ever taken time to look at nature? Nature declares that God is mighty. He is awesome. His power is unlimited. How can we dare to limit his power to create the heavens and the earth? He has the power to speak and call things into existence.
God not only created our universe. He also did not leave us here by ourselves to try to manage it on our own. God has, since the being of creation, continued to keep us alive. In other words, God is the originator of life on this earth, and he is the sustainer of life on this earth.
And we can be sure He will never leave us or forsake us. He has promised this in his Word, the Bible.
Why did He do all this? Because He loves us and desires nothing more than we love him back. How do we show we love and appreciate him?
